The Book and forthcoming adventures.

Forever the Colours by Richard Thomas is out now.  Flying the Colours is still in progress and will hopefully be near completion by the end of 2014.  Fighting the Colours is still at the idea stage but I have been able to put a few comments below on where I would like to take the story.

Forever the Colours

When Tommy Evans regains consciousness after being injured on the battlefield of modern day Afghanistan, the world around him is not the same.  Filled with cannon smoke, gunfire and the whinnying of horses, Tommy inexplicably finds himself transported back to 1880 - back to the eve of one of the British army's worst defeats in the Victorian period: the Battle of Maiwand.  Now he must find his way back home or face the very real possibility of perishing along with most of the soldiers of the 66th Foot, the Berkshires.

Flying the Colours

Afghanistan in 1919 - the third Anglo/Afghan conflict. Set after the calamity of WW1, Tommy learns a lesson from history from this little known war, and meets some famous people including a recipient of the Victoria Cross.

Fighting the Colours

In the last of the series Tommy jumps forward to a war that nearly destroyed a super power.  He finds himself on the other side of the battle line, experiencing what it is like to be called a terrorist in one nation, a freedom fighter in another.

Thomas Evans must take arms against the colours of the red army - the USSR.
